The First Time
The first time we used KonsultaMD was via the app last June 2021. Globe had a promo that offered the first video call for free. It is so hard to use it because you'll be in the waiting room for a doctor and it will take so long that the app will log you out when you've been, as it says, "Idle for 10 minutes..." or something like that. BUT after multiple attempts for several days, we connected and it was a great experience. The doctor was kind, helpful, and we got what we requested. It will take a while for the app to reflect the completed call and consultation result, but it will be there in the files and you will get a text as well.
Fast Forward to September 2021
We needed to video-consult with a doctor again so we registered for the P60/month subscription. But using the app was... Just NO. The wait time was too long and it would log me out every 10 minutes while I was in the "waiting room."
THE SOLUTION: Use the website directly.
WHY?
You will see where you are in line (see that pic ^, yup there it is). This way, at least you can anticipate how long it will be till it's your turn.
You can sign in with the same number and code, and your data and consultation history is all there. I think it's better than the app.
The Caveat
- Download and run VSee first. No worries because the link to get it will be right there when you click for a video call. The instructions for VSee will be there too. NOTE: No need to log in to VSee separately because it will open automatically when you enter the waiting room. NOTE again: Update the settings on VSee when you're done so it will not run on startup next time you open the computer.
- REMEMBER TO CLICK SOME ITEMS ON THE DASHBOARD once in while if you are still in the waiting room which will have its own separate tab. Do this so it will not log you out and say that you've been idle for 10 minutes yadda yadda... It is much easier to click around the dashboard on a computer - and you cannot do this if you're using the app. This saved me from frustration, for sure.
We entered #39 in line and I think we waited for about 30-40 minutes before a doctor entered the video call. We were #19 in line when I took the screenshot above. The consult was as great as before, the doctor was so nice and helpful.
Around 10-20 minutes after we ended the call, I got the text about our consult and the KonsultaMD dashboard updated as well. All good.
So, that's it, until the app functions better, the solution is to use the website directly via computer @ https://konsulta.md
