Replaced shower valve set

Image
APRIL 2024 This shower valve became loose — they couldn't shut it off properly, water was dripping off it... Disaster waiting to happen.  The maintenance guy said the parts inside were starting to crumble " nadudurog napo" and we needed to replace the whole set. He showed us a photo of the replacement so we can buy the right one. You can buy it online sa Shopee ↗ the shower valve set arrived The handle is different from the shop's product photo but the important parts are identical (I guess) so I called admin to request service. The same maintenance guy came and replaced it all just fine.  I signed the service order form afterwards. I will get billed for this repair visit. It will show up in the next condo HOA statement.  Tipped the nice man and gave him cold juice to drink. The weather's so hot at 35C but feels like 40C with the humidity! UPDATE Received the statement - the repair and maintenance fee is 250.00 pesos.

Christmas Eve 2022

Noche Buena 2022... I already pre-ordered a "budget set" na good for 4 people daw (baked beef macaroni and fudgy cake) from one of our neighbors a week before. He delivered it around 6:30 pm on Dec. 24 so we heated the baked mac just before midnight... Masarap! Very pretty din ang packaging nya na merong holiday ribbons and all... di ko lang napicturan.  I did not want to prep or cook anymore para wala nang stress or bili pa ng mga ingredients. Relax and enjoy nalang. Naka-order nadin ako sa kapitbahay kong to ng baked mac dati so alam ko na oks ang gawa nya, maayos din ang packaging na ginagamit nya.   FYI, sobrang mahal na ng onions nowadays. Almost 400 pesos per kilo! 😲

Our Community Christmas Tree 2021

It is over 20 feet high! The condo's HOA puts up a really tall Christmas tree every year. The trimmings change each time but still so neat and beautifully designed.

Condo Living: Taas ng Water Bill [SOLVED]

Image
We get good water pressure. But a few times a year, it gets too strong that our kitchen faucet, bathroom shower, and bathroom sink faucet will leak. Nevertheless, we normally average maybe 15 cu.m. a month and our bill would be around 300 pesos depending on the rate. *This is a 1BR/1BA unit.  September 2021: Our water consumption spiked to 35 cu.m. compared to the previous billing. It was over 600 pesos! The water pressure was so strong that I had to replace the kitchen and bathroom sink faucets to stop the leaks. Water started to run into the toilet bowl too -- but we could fix that just by tapping the flush lever.  However, we did notice loud noise coming from inside the toilet tank like it was refilling itself sporadically -- I ignored this thinking that it will eventually stop when the water pressure in our building returns to normal. October 2021: Our water consumption is higher at 42 cu.m. and the bill is over 800 pesos! Crazy. I went down to get my statement of account (SOA)

replacement circuit breaker

The maintenance guy just left... See, our range hood and electric stove quit working last night. We called for maintenance to check it then, but it was too late so no one came. We asked our lobby guard to call them again around noon today. The maintenance guy came at around 2 PM. His greeting was... I'm going to fix your door too. LOL. Yeah, our door handle is loose too. So he checked the stove and hood... used our extension cord to check the hood's power (the hood is not broken, yay!) and other things... The verdict: we need to replace the circuit breaker. Damn. I hoped it was just the fuse. Anyway, the good news is that he has a spare 32-amp breaker cuz the people that ordered it first were not home when he visited their unit earlier so, if we wanted to, we can buy that spare that costs 300 pesos so he can install it today, and he can just buy another one for that other unit. OMG, yes, please! Installation fee is separate though because the condo admin will charge
