pldt no dial tone

‎ Saturday, ‎March ‎12, ‎2016 10:31:01 PM No dial tone. Patay ang linya. Walang Internet connection. WALA LAHAT. Our dial tone disappeared this afternoon. Someone said it probably happened after 2:30 p.m. when they noticed they didn't have working Internet (nobody really checked the phone line at the time). We don't know why our line died. Cables are plugged OK. Our account is current (no outstanding balance). It wasn't raining. And nothing exploded at the Meralco pole (the PLDT cabinet is up there). Then, WHY? I shut the modem off (so it can cool down at least) and we called 171 using someone's Smart cell (it's free). Went through the automated recording and pressed buttons accordingly. At the end, it gave us a Repair Reference Number. The auto repair-reporting sequence didn't give an option to reach a human. There was an automated apology about them having a "high volume of calls" at the beginning though. Called 171 again after a few minut

old story

I forgot to put this up. Someone's baon last, last week. Chicken adobo and cold ampalaya salad. School ends next week daw. No more making baon after that. (sad face) OLD STORY Hot and humid weather. Sweat in bed. Ants come out and bite. Little sleep to be had. Repeat.

season's changed

Has it? Summer na? As in it's going to be hot and humid all the time, 24/7? It feels like it now and it's almost midnight. This afternoon, it felt like we were in the mid-30s °C that I had to take my eyeglasses off, it kept slipping off.

the remains of the day

Kindle book bought with Amazon GC balance (Mturk earnings... just slow and steady and it adds up nicely). "The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro. Just finished this yesterday. I liked it very much. This Kindle reader has been used everyday for years. It was a gift. Look at that Home button, I must've been rubbing the space around it while reading. The green Acase cover is becoming dirty too.
