The Experience --

  • My fingers are not callous. Lanced the first time at 3.0 = too much blood! But almost painless 👍
  • Tested 3 hrs after brunch and it read 144 nyak... Too high!
  • I will test next time after 12 hr fast and will lance at a lower depth like 2.0 or 2.5.

Why did I get a glucometer home testing kit?
We have a history of diabetes in the family. Both sides in our case. I am getting older and screening has been advised. Getting tested for Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) outside at a lab during this pandemic is scary, and booking home-service is expensive. This home-testing kit does not assure accuracy but a ballpark figure, at least, gives peace of mind.

Update 11/25/2021:

Result after 12-hour fast is normal at 81 mg/dL. This time at lanced at 2.5 - it was okay with adequate amount of blood extracted hehe. I think I will use this depth for next time too.

Lovely weather now. It's cold - not too cold that I have to bundle up - it's nice. It's windy outside too. Mosquitoes in my room are not afraid. How to fix a Paymaya Duplicate Account issue? Do not waste your time sending an email to support@paymaya.com or messaging PaymayaCares on FB because you will only get a canned response (and a headache). YOU NEED TO TALK TO A HUMAN BEING... If you do not have a landline but you do have a Smart number, call *788 directly. This is free. That's what I did. I spoke with a rep and she fixed it right away, mabilis lang. She said the BSP (Bangko Sentral) is strict and will only allow 1 upgraded account per user. Any attempts to upgrade a different number will flag the new account and put you in this duplicate account mess and you won't be able to add money to this new number anymore. (The original account will not be affected though.) Because they cannot cancel the submitted upgrade request on the new number (it doesn't work that way daw), I had to choose which number I want to keep-- If I choose to keep the old upgraded number, they will delete the duplicate account and I

Globe at Home: "Connected without internet" ================ 11/4/2023 Saturday ================ 12 Noon: We lost our wifi today. After troubleshooting* a few times -- still no "internet" light on the modem; it is off while all other lights are green. *Power off modem for 30 seconds and wait for it to boot up. ~2:45pm: I called Globe's customer service 211 . It's free to call with a Globe #. Automated recording for broadband services - give your customer account # and wait for a human to answer. I didn't wait too long -- The rep told me that since there's no advisory for my area, to keep troubleshooting because they might be able to fix it on their end later today, but she still put me down for a tech "home visit" for tomorrow.
