QUESTION: I use a pocket wifi with a Globe prepaid SIM as back-up when my primary internet connection is intermittent. Since texting BAL to 222 stopped working and we cannot dial *143#, how do I check my remaining data balance now?   ANSWER: Text DATA BAL to 8080  I use a Huawei pocket wifi with a Globe prepaid SIM, and I used to check my remaining balance by texting BAL to 222. Since Globe disabled that feature, I hoped downloading the GlobeOne app and registering the Globe number there would be the simple solution to track my balance - it's not! The GlobeOne app only showed the load balance, not the data balance. The solution is to text DATA BAL to 8080 - done (pic below)! Hopefully, Globe will not disable this code too.  

 I purchased the ZTE MF920T LTE pocket wifi  years ago. We have since moved into a new place and this pocket wifi served its purpose when we're on the road or during brownouts. I think it was around 2.5k pesos back in 2017. Smart LTE sim has good coverage in Metro Manila and that's the SIM I use with this. Unfortunately, its battery is now swollen... yikes. It still works but I woudn't risk using this now.

It's not my house. It's not my pldt wifi, they don't have to share it if they don't want to.  I'm trying to cope, find my own way. Mobile data is fine but I can only do so much on a phone. To work productively on the laptop, I need a faster and stable connection. I can't get my own pldt dsl yet cuz I don't want to be locked in a contract before I move out. I hope this lte pocket wifi will work when i need it.
