GlobeAtHome no internet [fixed]

Image
Globe at Home: "Connected without internet" ================ 11/4/2023 Saturday ================ 12 Noon: We lost our wifi today. After troubleshooting* a few times -- still no "internet" light on the modem; it is off while all other lights are green. *Power off modem for 30 seconds and wait for it to boot up. ~2:45pm: I called Globe's customer service 211 . It's free to call with a Globe #. Automated recording for broadband services - give your customer account # and wait for a human to answer. I didn't wait too long -- The rep told me that since there's no advisory for my area, to keep troubleshooting because they might be able to fix it on their end later today, but she still put me down for a tech "home visit" for tomorrow. I received my report reference # via text message too.  She said I will also give that ref # if I want to request for a "bill adjustment" later. Modem status 4pm: I logged into the modem, the da

Sky Broadband Disconnection Process (2022)

Image
Sky Tech Arrives to "Pull Out" the Equipment i.e. Modem I can cancel my problematic Sky Broadband internet subscription without any fees because I am not locked into their 2-year contract anymore.  I have been using Globe at Home for a couple of months now and so far, so good. The steps I took to cancel/disconnect my Sky Broadband -- 1. Logged into my Mysky.com.ph account and chat with a rep. He started the disconnection process, gave me a reference number, and told me to expect a call. 2. Got the call the next day -- the tech is here to "pull out" the equipment i.e. modem. THE "PULL OUT"  We already unplugged the modem and put it in a plastic bag for him to just collect... But hindi lang pala ganun, haha. He sat down and filled out a few forms; this took him maybe around 10 minutes, and... done! We signed the forms, he gave us our copy of the work order, and he left. He took the modem with him too. THE NEXT BILL I still have an account with Sky for ca

Globe at Home Installation Plan 1599

Image
Applied for Globe at Home VDSL Plan 1599 Monday afternoon (April 18, 2022). It was installed Wednesday morning (April 20, 2022). This is modem-only plan, walang landline. There is a Globe agent/booth at our clubhouse. I assume many residents in our community are Globe internet and landline subscribers. Ang contact number ng lobby sa building namin is Globe landline. NOTES via talk with our Globe agent during the application:  • Expect around P800 sa unang billing para sa fees; she does not know why they printed it as "... P100 per month for first 12 months" sa promotional flyer. (UPDATE: Actual first month's bill ko = P2,185.30; Second month's bill = P1,599.00)  • Correct na there is a 24-month lock-in contract.  • Lahat ng buildings dito are wire-ready sa Globe that is why mabilis ang installation. Front camera ang gamit ko diyan ^ kaya mirrored ang picture; kakagising ko lang nung nag-doorbell ang technician. Okay ang wired services ng Globe, pero an

Modem Replacement from Sky

Image
Ganitong modem "Skyworth" ang pinalit ng Sky sa modem namin na luma. We are having issues with the WiFi disconnecting everyday between 2am and 4am. Turning the modem off/on while waiting ~2 minutes in between, fixes it. But lately, it disconnects in the afternoon as well. The modem lights are okay, but it kicks us out. Araw-araw nalang. Inis nako . So, I contacted Sky last week to schedule a home visit. The Sky technicians came today. After a Q&A about the problem, they decided to replace the old Technicolor modem. The replacement modem is free. Anyway, it takes a long while to set up the new modem kasi it's not just "plug and play." They coordinated with their home office over the phone, linked it via serial number, etc., and then, I signed their work order form. We made sure okay lahat before they left. My 2-year contract with Sky ended matagal na so I can cancel at any time. When I do that, I will only cancel their internet service. I am keep

Skycable wifi hide ssid

Image
It is very sad when your internet provider's customer service rep does not know what the WiFi SSID is. Good thing I found the answer anyway. Thanks, google-sensei. How to Hide Your SkyCable Wifi's SSID: The SkyCable wifi modem I have is the black tower, Technicolor. I assume you are already connected and logged in to the admin panel... Important: Note down the SSID before doing this. Because when you hit "apply," it will immediately disconnect without any confirmation prompt. Go to the Wireless > Primary Network tab. On the Closed Network field, select Closed. Then, go down the page and hit Apply. Done. Like I said, after a few moments it will disconnect, and you have to manually add the network name (ssid) and password to connect again.

My butt hurts, Sky

Waited all afternoon for Sky to install my broadband today. Nagtext sila 7:45 pm. Naubusan daw sila time... Till next dispatch daw. I transferred sa powerchair ng 1 pm. Between 1 pm and 6 pm kasi ang sched. Kala ko matutuloy ko lang magtrabaho sa wheelchair, di pala. Nagpatulong nako lumipat sa bed ng 7pm. Sakit na kasi butt ko... :(
